A Littleover artist, who uses recycled materials for his craft, wants to encourage more people to re-use their everyday items. Eco-Artist Brian Hitchcock, a retired decorator, started painting after having lessons for his 60th birthday. Since retiring he has turned his artistic attention to using materials that have already been used for other things, including paints, canvasses and frames.
"I'm always on the look out for materials," said Brian.
"Especially dark coloured paints, which are particularly hard to come by."
The 67-year-old said it is easy to buy new things all the time, but it is nice to use what we already have.
By producing Eco-Art, Brian says he is making his small difference in reducing the amount of the world's resources that we all use.
"Anyone can do it," he said. "And more importantly, they'll enjoy it."
Most of Brian's paintings are based on locations that he has been to, including Venice, Paris and New York.
"They all have a very special meaning to me," he said.
