A salmon attempts to leap up the weir near Elvaston castle as the spawning season begins. Several groups in Derbyshire started discussing plans for Project River life back in 1988, in an attempt to make the waterways cleaner so that spawning salmon would swim further up stream from Nottinhamshire.
